Alfred Weber Institut for Economics
The main research areas of the AWI are concentrated on Behavioural Scientific Economics and Institutional Economics, particularly on Political Economics, Behavioural Economics, Experimental Economics and Environmental Economics. A positive development of the AWI is reflected in the current rankings including Handelsblatt Ranking 2019 advancing the AWI to place 7.
The Institute of Political Science
The IPW is among the strongest institutes with regard to research and publications of political science in Germany. The institute’s strong academic profile is in the area of comparative analysis, comparative research of policy, analysis of regimes and research of foreign policy. These profiles are supplemented with comparative political economy, analysis of conflicts, modern theory of Political Science and empirical participation research.
Max-Weber-Institut für Soziologie
The Max Weber Institute is among the most respected sociology institutes in Germany for its solid publications and research. Special areas of a s ocially and culturally comparative research are Sociological Theory, Social Structure Analysis, Empirical Macrosociology, Political Sociology, Organizational Sociology, Sociological and Institutional Theory. The Centre for Social Investment (CSI) at the MWI has established its distinguished profile in national and international cooperation, especially in the filed of transfer of academic knowledge.
